Porcelain Bridges
Dental bridges are a great way to replace missing teeth. Your existing teeth are used to literally create a bridge to cross the area where your tooth is missing. Bridges are made from gold, metal, alloys, or porcelain to ensure that they are strong and durable.
Dental bridges are exactly what they sound like, a bridge that closes a gap by one or more missing teeth. During the first visit we begin by preparing the abutments. Preperation involves recontouring the teeth to provide room for the crown to be placed over them. We then make the abutments impressions of the teeth and send them to the dental lab.
We will make a temporary bridge for you to wear and to protect your exposed teeth and gums while your new bridge is being made. Once your permanent bridge is completed, your temporary bridge will be removed and the new porcelain bridge will be checked and adjusted to achieve the perfect fit. We then cement the bridge into place to make sure that the bridge is set.
Your bridge may take some time to get used to so we reccomend eating soft foods that have been cut into small pieces for the following couple days. Afterwards you mouth should feel back to normal again and you can go back to eating all your favorite foods!
